Saint Michaels Hospice & Herriot Hospice Homecare Charity Stores are at the heart of our community.
Are you an adaptable and driven delivery driver, comfortable handling a long wheelbase vehicle? We are currently looking for a Retail Driver to support our Herriot shops with furniture collection and delivery, alongside general shop support.
You will ensure that stock, including furniture, is safely transported between shops, customers’ homes, and other locations, paying attention to health and safety at all times. Making practical assessments, you will be able to check items for collection with mind to safety and sale needs. Successful candidates will have a hands-on attitude, being able to carry out basic maintenance on the retail vehicles and stores as required. PAT testing ability or willingness to train is similarly valuable.
Candidates must possess excellent customer services skills and be confident liaising with customers ensuring they are informed of any delays or changes to collections/deliveries. Knowledge of health and safety and safe lifting techniques is also required. Familiarity with the Harrogate & surrounding areas will be an advantage.
Due to insurance criteria for our vehicles, candidates will need to have a full clean driving licence with experience of driving a tail lift vehicle.
