Description
Maintenance Operations Control Engineer
We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) Engineer to become a crucial part of our team in Guernsey.
✈️ About the Role
As a Maintenance Operations Control Engineer, you’ll be the technical anchor of the Aurigny fleet — ensuring every aircraft is fit, safe, and ready for take-off. You’ll act as the first point of contact for technical issues affecting daily operations, liaising closely with Flight Operations, CAMO, and Part 145 maintenance.
You’ll ensure full compliance with UK CAA Part CAMO, Part M, and Part 145 regulatory requirements, contributing directly to the safety and continuous airworthiness of the fleet. It's a high-responsibility, high-impact role, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, makes confident decisions, and wants to shape the operational heartbeat of an airline.
🌍 What You’ll Be Doing
-
Act as the liaison between maintenance organisations and the airline to ensure all work aligns with Aurigny’s Continued Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) and CAMO procedures.
-
Oversee technical status and readiness of aircraft across our network, collaborating with internal teams to maintain and optimise flying schedules.
-
Deliver vital training and ensure procedural alignment across internal and external maintenance providers.
-
Lead daily technical calls, generate reports, track fleet status, and provide updates to operations, engineering, and planning teams.
-
Respond swiftly to in-service issues and AOG scenarios, coordinating recovery efforts with troubleshooting support and strategic planning.
-
Monitor aircraft messages, faults, and crew reports — offering technical direction and support in real-time to keep disruptions to a minimum.
-
Coordinate short-term and unplanned maintenance, working with Planning and Technical Services to assign work, assess priorities, and maintain aircraft availability.
-
Analyse technical delays and support reliability improvement efforts, ensuring the correct categorisation of issues and effective long-term resolutions.
-
Engage with manufacturers and OEMs for technical guidance, updates, and special support.
-
Participate in safety investigations, audits, and compliance reporting to ensure the highest standards across all maintenance operations.
-
Support the setup of new outstation contracts, route launches, and changes in operation with risk assessments and maintenance planning.
-
Deputise for the MOC Manager when required, ensuring consistent leadership and performance across the team.
🛠 What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with the knowledge, confidence, and technical insight to own the role. To hit the ground running, you’ll need:
-
EASA/UK CAA Part 66 B1 or B2 Licence – ideally with an ATR72 type rating.
-
A solid grounding in Part M and Part 145 regulations, with proven ability to apply them in a real-world operational setting.
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, ideally in MCC or line maintenance environments.
-
Strong communication skills to coordinate between diverse teams — from pilots and planners to manufacturers and maintenance crews.
-
Excellent IT literacy and ability to use and manage Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. OASES).
-
An eye for detail, strong organisational instincts, and the confidence to make decisions under pressure.
