Job Title: Cleaner

Reporting to: Premises Coordinator 

Normal Place of Work: The Mind Sanctuary, Potter Street, Harlow

Hours:  6 Hours Per Week

Term: Permanent 

Pay: £12.21 per hour

About the role: 

The cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment throughout the premises.  The role plays a vital part in supporting staff, volunteers, service users and visitors by ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.

 

Key Task Areas and Responsibilities: 

  • Clean and sanitise offices, meeting rooms, communal areas and corridors

  • Hoover and mop floors as appropriate

  • Clean internal windows and doors on occassion

  • Empty bins and dispose of the waste in accordance with our waste procedures

  • Restock the consumables such as hand soap and toilet paper

Expectations

  • Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises

  • Carry out the cleaning duties in a professional and timely manner

  • Work independently and use initiative to identify areas requiring additional attention

  • Follow agreed cleaning schedules and priorities

  • Respect the shared nature of the building and work considerately around staff and visitors

  • Follow the Health and Safety requirements provided , including the safe use of chemicals and equipment

  • Report any maintenance issues, damage or hazards promptly to the line manager

  • Attend any required training and follow the organisational policies and procedures

  • To keep abreast of internal and external developments and respond accordingly.

  • To undertake other duties that may be necessary as directed by the Manager, that are compatible with nature and grade of post.

  • To adhere to relevant legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act (always ensuring an appropriate level of confidentiality), Health and Safety at Work Act (always ensuring H&S of own and others) and any other relevant/charity law.
