Reporting to: Premises Coordinator
Normal Place of Work: The Mind Sanctuary, Potter Street, Harlow
Hours: 6 Hours Per Week
Term: Permanent
Pay: £12.21 per hour

About the role:
The cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment throughout the premises. The role plays a vital part in supporting staff, volunteers, service users and visitors by ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
Key Task Areas and Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitise offices, meeting rooms, communal areas and corridors

Hoover and mop floors as appropriate

Clean internal windows and doors on occassion

Empty bins and dispose of the waste in accordance with our waste procedures

Restock the consumables such as hand soap and toilet paper
Expectations

Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises

Carry out the cleaning duties in a professional and timely manner

Work independently and use initiative to identify areas requiring additional attention

Follow agreed cleaning schedules and priorities

Respect the shared nature of the building and work considerately around staff and visitors

Follow the Health and Safety requirements provided , including the safe use of chemicals and equipment

Report any maintenance issues, damage or hazards promptly to the line manager

Attend any required training and follow the organisational policies and procedures

To keep abreast of internal and external developments and respond accordingly.

To undertake other duties that may be necessary as directed by the Manager, that are compatible with nature and grade of post.

To adhere to relevant legal and statutory requirements including the Data Protection Act (always ensuring an appropriate level of confidentiality), Health and Safety at Work Act (always ensuring H&S of own and others) and any other relevant/charity law.
