The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and managing invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, and maintaining comprehensive records. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

 

We are primarily a remote working organisation, however occasional/infrequent travel to London will be required. We would also consider part time/flexible working (minimum 15 hours per week) for the right candidate.

 

What you’ll do

·       Communicating with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries

·       Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records 

·       Managing daily bank reconciliations

·       Manage daily reconciliation of client money accounts in accordance with regulatory requirements, with timely investigation and corrective action for any anomalies

·       Assisting with day-to-day accounting administration

·       Assisting with supplier contract management 

·       Posting invoices and credit notes and ensuring they’re coded correctly in the system

·       Preparing and processing supplier payments and ensuring that all payments are approved

·       Ensuring that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures

·       Assisting in the annual audit and accounts

·       Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items

·       Assisting the wider Finance team as required

 

About you

      Previous experience of working in a Finance Assistant role

      Prior experience of working for a regulated financial services company (desired) 

      Working knowledge of general accounting procedures

      Excellent MS Excel skills

      IT literacy, including knowledge of relevant accounting software (Certinia preferred but not essential)

      Strong organisational skills, as they typically handle high volumes of invoices and transactions

      Excellent communication skills, including the ability to actively listen to others and relay   information clearly

      The ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and creditors

      The ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others

      Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, particularly during month end
