Bradfield College & St Andrew’s Berkshire are co-educational independent boarding and day schools set within 250 acres of stunning Berkshire countryside, combining historic buildings with modern academic, boarding, sports and performance facilities. The College and school operate seven days a week and remains active year-round, welcoming pupils, staff, families and guests for a range of purposes.

We are looking for Housekeepers to join our friendly and professional housekeeping team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that the College is clean, safe and well‑presented at all times, supporting the wellbeing of everyone on site.

The Role

Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across a variety of school buildings, including classrooms, offices, communal areas and some residential accommodation.

Working as part of a team and reporting to a housekeeping supervisor, you will have a defined work area and set tasks during each shift, with some flexibility required to support the needs of the schools.

Shift patterns are designed to allow cleaning to take place when buildings are least in use:

  • Classrooms and public areas: early mornings or evenings
  • Boarding houses: generally during the middle of the day

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily and periodic cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping and sanitising surfaces
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, washrooms and changing areas to a high standard
  • Replenish consumables including soap, toilet paper and paper towels
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, following COSHH guidelines and training
  • Store cleaning materials and equipment securely and safely
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards or health and safety concerns promptly
  • Follow safeguarding, fire safety and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Support deep cleaning work during school holidays

The Ideal Candidate

You do not need formal qualifications to apply – full training will be provided. We welcome applications from both experienced cleaners and those new to the role.

You will be:

  • Reliable, punctual and well‑organised
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail‑focused, with pride in your work
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to different tasks
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
  • Discreet and respectful within a school environment

To apply please complete the Application Form below.

Closing date: 13 February 2026

Applications will be processed as they are received, and we may interview suitable candidates before the closing date.

Bradfield College reserves the right to make an appointment at any time, so early applications are encouraged.

Bradfield College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening as part of their application. This includes submitting an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate prior to employment, registration of the DBS Update Service and checks with past employers.
