Night Support Worker – Childrens Residential - Up to £32,655 salary package.

This Childrens residential, night support worker role offers a salary of between £11.50 - £13.00 basic rate (Basic salary based on competency based qualifying criteria), plus premium rates for, and regular overtime of up to £15.50 per hour, available to further increase earnings.

The Role

 

As a Night Support Worker at our 9 Bedded home for children and young people you will be supporting and giving high levels of care to children and young people with severe and complex care needs, Acquired Brain Injury, complex learning disabilities and associated behavioural challenges. Managing the health needs of the children forms a significant part of the service that we provide and are firmly committed to meeting the very unique and individual health care needs of our children.

Our home provides a safe and nurturing environment where preconceptions are challenged and young people are encouraged to be the best that they can be and to live life to its fullest.

You will be working Wake night shifts and the rota does include alternate weekends. You will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people.

Duties

Provide a safe, caring and consistent home life for each young person.

To empower and enable young people to achieve their individual goals and full potential and strive towards building confidence and independence.

·        To ensure the delivery of appropriate care and support is given with sensitivity.

·        To support and cooperate with the effective and efficient operation of the service.

·        Ensure all health and educational needs of the young people are met.

·        To encourage and develop the life skills necessary to support independence.

·        To plan and undertake relevant leisure activities with young people.

·        Undertake keyworker/co-keyworker responsibilities and duties where necessary.

·        To adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, legislative and reporting requirements.

·        To actively participate in continuing professional development.

 

Qualifications / Experience

Successful candidates will need to have:

  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (Social Care Pathway)
  • Ideally you will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs, however we will consider candidates from EBD residential settings also.
