Key Responsibilities

• Assembly & Integration: Assemble, fit, and install components, including motors, servomechanisms, cabling, and PCBs using hand/power tools.
• Technical Reading: Interpret complex engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and wiring schematics.
• Troubleshooting & Rework: Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and fault-finding on sub-assemblies to resolve issues.
• RMA: To liaise with Quality Assurance to fault find and repair issues on customer returned product.
• Testing & Calibration: Conduct functional, electrical continuity, and safety tests using, tools like multimeters, calipers, and micrometres.
• Quality & Compliance: Adhere strictly to, safe work practices and company quality standards, providing feedback for issues, process improvements (Lean, 5S).
• Review and amend work instructions where necessary to ensure accurate instructions reflecting the most efficient way to manufacture products are maintained and support Manufacturing Engineering to optimise the work instructions.
• Maintain and build test records in a clear and accurate manner.
• Ensure work is carried out to the required Health & Safety, COSHH & ESD standards and conforms to the implemented ISO 9001 & 14001 management systems.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship to produce high quality product.
• Identify & resolve problems rapidly and proactively.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair products returned from customers and complete FMEA where required.
• Support the training and development of other team members and partners when required.
• Support any other reasonable tasks required for the  Business.

Personal Profile

• Language: Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Experience: Proven experience in complex, electro-mechanical assembly.
• Computer Literacy: Possessing the skills to confidently use office software, Word and Excel, to use computers to run installed test programs and scripts.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in soldering (e.g., IPC standards), cable harnessing, and mechanical fitting. Able to produce and comprehend relevant documentation & training.
• Able to understand technical mechanical drawings & measurement instructions preferred.
• Tools: Skilled with, precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometres) and hand tools.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting capabilities, and ability to work well within a team with minimal supervision.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, inspection, RMA reports and timesheets.
• Personal: Keen eye for detail, inquisitive, driven and proactive.

Overview, a rapidly growing UK SME, develops and manufactures market-leading Autonomous Sensors Systems and Integrated Servo Drives for global markets. 

Overview’s Intelligent Autonomous Sensors Systems (Pods) use multiple sensors and sophisticated edge intelligence to autonomously provide users with actionable digital information. Pods can autonomously detect, classify, alert users and track targets of interest, all at machine speed. Developed for use in critical domains such as defence, surveillance, security, emergency response and counter-UAS, applications include ground-based solutions and those mounted on manned and autonomous vehicles.

Overview’s expertise includes the development and manufacture of innovative, precision, brushless, Integrated Servo Drives. These Integrated Servo Drives are sold to a rapidly growing global customer base for a range of exacting positioning applications and used by Overview in the development of Sensor Systems.

The Process

Most of our interviews will take place over one or two stages, typically a phone/teams interview followed by a face-to-face interview on-site. We do ask all candidates who are coming to a face-to-face interview to carry out a short Psychometric assessment to help us understand how you tick!
