Description

The Role:

In your role you as NPD Chef you will be responsible for developing New, Exciting and Innovative Bakery Goods, Sandwiches, Salads and other Food To Go products with an emphasis on current and future trends in line with the overall company strategy. 

You will also have a close liaison with the Production Team, (primarily the Factory Kitchen where all mixes are produced) and the Bakery.  There will also be close involvement with the Purchasing Team, Technical Team and Quality Team, to co-ordinate and drive NPD for all products from concept to launch process to set and maintain standards.

 Your Duties:

  • Liaising with Food Innovation Manager and NPI Team, Quality, Production, Technical and Purchasing, to introduce new products/ranges to the business in line with the company strategy eg, Sandwiches, Salads, Dressings, Snacks and Bakery with a focus on Current and Future Trends. 
  • Liaising with customers to present exciting new ideas and concepts and present DELI LITES in a way that demonstrates our commitment to Food Innovation.
  • Carrying out NPD tasks in compliance with each gate stage of the procedure. 
  • Carrying Out Product Development.
  • Ensure product samples sent to customers are made to specification and customer requirements prior to dispatch.
  • Ensure all products are developed in line with NPD procedure and any customer codes of practice as required.
  • Ensure safe development of products by using suppliers with appropriate credentials and raw materials that do not put product safety at risk or that of other raw materials.
  • Conducting quality assessments of product on an on-going basis to include:  Taste Testing, Compliance to Specification and Benchmarking
  • Monitoring of existing products to ensure that they meet specifications and live up to brand expectations.
  • Hold a weekly concept lunch to showcase what is being worked on. "  

 

 Desired Criteria:

·       A passion for food and an interest in consumer & market trends

·       Experience in project management & organisational skills with the ability to manage projects on time, on budget with measurable outcomes.

·       Have a can do mentality and used to problem solving

·       Strong communication and presentation skills

Computer literate (MS Office, Intact, Powerpoint)
