Ramp Supervisor – Guernsey Airport
We are seeking a professional and motivated Ramp Supervisor to join our team at Guernsey Airport, reporting to the Station Manager. This is a key operational role responsible for overseeing ramp activities, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient aircraft turnaround, while leading and supporting a team of Ramp Agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee ramp operations on each shift, ensuring full compliance with company procedures and industry regulations
- Supervise and support Ramp Agents, promoting high standards of safety, performance, and teamwork
- Identify training and development needs, assisting in the progression of team members
- Conduct aircraft pre-arrival checks, including stand readiness, vehicle inspections, and adherence to dress and behaviour standards
- Manage aircraft arrival procedures, including shutdown, safety equipment usage, and vehicle positioning
- Oversee offloading operations, ensuring safe handling of passengers, baggage, and freight
- Supervise loading processes in line with aircraft, safety, and handling procedures
- Ensure all pre-departure and walk-around checks are completed accurately
- Oversee aircraft start-up procedures and ensure all reporting protocols are followed
- Drive On-Time Departures and enforce the airline’s Post Time Schedule (PTS)
- Ensure the correct and safe use of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and company vehicles
- Promote and support the use of internal systems such as Centrik for safety reporting and communications
- Supervise and assist in the development of new Ramp Agents in line with company safety policies
- Deliver a safe and thorough aircraft de-icing service during winter operations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all de-icing procedures comply with company and regulatory standards
Skills and Attributes
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven experience in staff supervision, or a willingness to develop leadership skills
- Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to identify and resolve challenges efficiently
- Self-motivated, professional, and willing to take on additional responsibility
- Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible approach to working hours
Professional Requirements
- Clear police check
- Valid driver’s licence
- Full five-year employment history (required for airside pass)
