Join Our Team as a Drivers Mate Volunteer!

Barnsley Hospice is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to join our team and support the vital work we do across our services.
Our volunteers play an essential role in helping us provide specialist care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. By giving your time, skills and enthusiasm, you will help us continue delivering care that truly matters.
About the Role
As a volunteer, you may support the hospice in a variety of ways depending on the role. This could include:
- Assisting the Retail Hub driver with furniture deliveries and collection
- Unloading the Retail Van at destination of delivery
- Assisting with quality, suitability and health and safety checks on donated stock
- Assisting with load up of stock for delivery onto Retail v
- Movement of stock into loading and dispatch of furniture donations
- Movement of stock around the shop floor / warehouse floor space
- General warehouse duties (packing textiles for recycling, weighing cages of bulk stock, packing waste) between stock deliveries
- General housekeeping when handling donated items / sold items
