About this role
We are looking for an experienced Director of Social (Head of Social) for our full-service social media team, reporting into the leadership team.
This role will be responsible for scaling the social media specialism at Citypress and setting the vision for the future. We are looking for someone with passion, drive and ambition to lead the charge for social-first thinking. You’ll need to have extensive experience leading social media departments, originating and converting social-first new business, overseeing large social programmes, providing senior-level client counsel and be able to act as a supportive and motivating team lead.
You will have significant experience in a similar role within an agency, at Director level, and will work with an experienced team with a diverse range of specialist skills, from paid social to video, to social content creation and research and analytics.
Role responsibilities
• Setting a clear vision for the agency’s social media offering
• Introduce new clients to the agency
• Lead and convert new business prospects
• Build your personal profile and that of the team, to attract new opportunities
• Acting as the senior lead on busy social media programmes and high-profile campaigns
• Lead the development of social-first, innovative creative ideas and social strategies linked to business objectives
• Foster a culture of social-first creativity, supporting teams to develop stronger creative thinking
• Be commercially-minded, with a good eye for detail
• Be the leader for the team, with a supportive line management approach and empowering leadership style
About you
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a strong social media team
• Excellent eye for quality
• Demonstrable passion for social, across B2C, B2B and corporate
• Strong personal network and growth mindset
• Comfortable originating and converting new business leads
• Strong strategic mindset, with a clear understanding of how social media can meet business goals
• Compelling writer that can turn ideas into buyable campaigns
• Confident leader that can work with teams across the business and foster a supportive, ambitious environment
• Comfortable working on a range of clients, budgets and briefs
