We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Group Finance Manager to work alongside our Finance Director to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. This includes both internal and external reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, ensuring that the business remains financially healthy and fully compliant with relevant regulations. You will work closely with the senior management team to provide strategic financial insight and support the company’s growth ambitions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting, with proficiency in various accounting software. Experience of accounting in a manufacturing business is essential. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health of our organisation and providing strategic insights to support decision-making.
The Company
The HEX Group consists of Bri-Stor Systems Ltd, Alpha Manufacturing Ltd & Atlas Coatings Ltd and we are based in Hixon, Staffordshire. We are a privately owned business employing over 500 people across the group, making us one of the largest employers in the region.
We are looking to strengthen our finance team with the recruitment of a Group Finance Manager.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Group Finance Manager to work alongside our Finance Director to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, ensuring that the business remains financially healthy and fully compliant with relevant regulations. You will work closely with the senior management team to provide strategic financial insight and support the company’s growth ambitions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and accounting, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health of our organisation and providing strategic insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to support business decision-making.
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company’s financial stability.
- Reporting and monitoring of stock valuations, along with investigation into any anomalies.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop and improve financial processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Looking into anomalies and correcting nominal mis-postings with journals.
- Support the senior leadership team with financial insights and strategic planning.
- Mentor and support the development of the finance team, ensuring their continued growth and performance.
- Conduct regular reviews of financial risks and implement effective controls to mitigate them.
- Oversee tax filings, VAT returns, and compliance with HMRC regulations.
Skills and Attributes
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, or equivalent).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated success in optimising financial operations to support business growth and scalability.
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
