Description

We are recruiting for a Disability Leader - Rebound Therapy to join our CYP - Disability Services team. You will be responsible for planning, leading and delivering Rebound Therapy sessions for children, young people and adults who have a disability or additional needs; assessing and setting achievable targets and outcomes; ensuring the wellbeing benefits of this therapy meets individual needs; ensuring that all safeguarding, regulator and health & safety requirements are being met.
This role requires someone with
· Introduction to safeguarding children and safeguarding adults.
· Trained Rebound Therapist with training completed within 2 years or willingness to complete.
· Experience of working or living with a CYP and adults with a disability.
· Child Care/Youth Work level 2 / 3 or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
· Experience of running physical activities for children and young people and/or adults with disabilities.
· Handles sensitive information confidentially.
· Escalates issues appropriately and seeks collaborative solutions.
· Communicates clearly and appropriately for different audiences, using inclusive language and adapting communication style based on feedback.
· Experience of positively managing behaviour in various situations.
· Experience of setting targets and outcome-based work.
· Experience of completing risk assessments and care planning.
· Collaborates effectively within a diverse team, values different perspectives and contributes to a positive and inclusive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Planning and delivery
1. To lead and deliver 1:1 and group Rebound Therapy sessions that are fun and progressive for participants.
2. To contribute to the planning, and organisation of sessions ensuring they are adapted, where appropriate, to offer an inclusive service.
3. Complete initial assessments for new users, including risk assessments and any medical supportive documentation where appropriate.
4. To ensure Rebound sessions run in accordance with YMCA and Rebound Therapy guidance, to ensure the service provided is of the highest quality.
5. Create personalised target and outcomes records, recording progression and celebrating successes.
6. To keep accurate records of users attending including care plans, BSP and required consents.
7. Ensure all users pay for their sessions, update registers and magic booking, chasing any debtors.
8. To ensure that equipment is maintained and stored in line with current procedures.
9. To assist in setting up /packing up of equipment, at the beginning and end of each session.
10. Where appropriate to work with parents and carers, checking that we have the correct information about the user that attends.
User support and engagement
1. To ensure that all users upon their arrival are welcomed, feel comfortable and valued enabling the development and improvement of self-esteem, self-confidence and a positive experience.
2. To build trusting relationships with users that enable them to benefit from the services provided.
3. Implement and ensure regular use of aids to support communication and sensory impairment need.
4. Assist and supervise safe moving and handling of users with restricted mobility, including hoisting and use of mobility equipment, after appropriate training.
5. Ensure high-quality, person-centred support is provided to users with disabilities and complex needs, following and understanding care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
Administration and Evaluation
1. Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings, forums and community events
2. Encourage users to input into their target setting and routines.
3. Capture Users participation, evaluation, using suitable methods, including case studies and photographic evidence.
4. Process new applications, complete initial assessments, individual care plans, and associated risk and specialist plans.
Safety, Supervision and Environment
1. To ensure that all of your working practices operate within the organisational health and safety and procedures and to furthermore ensure that children and adult safeguarding and child protection policies are always adhered to. This includes your own safety while supporting user to participate.
2. To supervise the environment to ensure physical, emotional and personal safety for all people attending. This includes reporting any accidents, incidents or safeguarding concerns are recording in a timely manner on My Concern system.
3. Ensure trampolines, materials, equipment, and service spaces are maintained, safe, and stored appropriately.
4. Ensure appropriate care is provided, ensuring all children/young people drink and stay hydrated and toileting needs are met during the session.
Teamwork, communication and development
1. Marketing of service locally to ensure delivery/attendance targets and budgets set are meet.
2. Production of promotional material and use of display boards, website and social media.
3. Support promotional activities, including taking photos for marketing and fundraising purposes.
4. Attend YMCA East Surrey staff meetings, training and staff development events, as appropriate, to ensure continuous professional competence and development.
5. To be flexible in order to meet the needs of service including covering sites aside from usual site.
6. Lead and work as part of a team to ensure high-quality service delivery. Build positive and professional relationships with users and colleagues.
7. Lead and communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing feedback on session and sharing relevant updates, checking that we have the correct information and keep them informed of incidents/ accidents or other concerns.
8. Work collaboratively with the Coordinators/ Managers to meet attendance targets and service objectives.
9. Attend staff meetings, training, and development events to maintain the knowledge and skills required for this role.
10. When required, offer Leader cover for Lifeworks Learning Hub.
11. Undertake other duties reasonably requested by senior staff to support the smooth running of the service.
General
- Represent YMCA with professionalism and compassion, maintaining a positive and inclusive public image at all times.
b. Participate in supervision, appraisal and learning and development, taking responsibility for maintaining the knowledge and skills required for this role.
c. Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others, reporting any risk promptly.

PAY:
· £7,824.18
WORKING HOURS AND WORKING PATTERN:
· 14 hours per week, worked over 2 days per week (to be agreed) 9am-5pm (including a 1-hour unpaid break), but with a possibility to combine this role with the Lifeworks role we are also advertising, to create one full-time (term-time) role.
