City of Woodburn has a Utility Worker I position at Parks and Facilities Division of the Community Services Department. Utility Worker I performs a variety of semi-skilled or unskilled maintenance work in the maintenance of parks, city grounds and buildings and related structures. Employees perform a wide variety of tasks involving the maintenance and repair of park and recreational facilities such as watering lawns, mowing lawns, weed pulling, renovate and fertilizing lawns and shrubs, pruning trees and shrubs, planting trees and flowers, applying pesticides, raking leaves, cleaning walks and garbage collection, and maintain athletic fields and other related facilities.

High school degree or G.E.D. and minimum 6 months of experience in public works maintenance, construction or repair in the assigned work area, or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Must pass the pre-employment background check; have a valid Oregon class C driver's license and ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards; must have an Oregon Public Pesticide Applicator's license or have ability to obtain within 9 months of employment; and possess the following training/certifications or ability to obtain and maintain after employment: Forklift, flagger, first aid/CPR, and Shoring. Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance. Clearance must be maintained throughout employment.

Successful applicant who is hired without the required Pesticide License starts the position at Parks and Maintenance Worker classification with the corresponding and lower pay grade until the license if obtained.
