MAIN PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE JOB
A newly created role, the Healthcare Professional Liaison will form a pivotal role in the Irish growth strategy. Your primary role will be to build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals (primarily focusing on GP’s and HCP’s relative to Optibac’s strategy across the healthcare system) to drive endorsements and recommendations. You will play a key role in driving Optibac’s visibility, trust and reputation by facilitating scientific education initiatives and furthering partnerships. A core focus will be identifying new opportunities for growth and driving recommendations through the healthcare system into the hands of patients.
Flexibility is essential at Wren Laboratories, with all teams working closely together to support and develop the ‘Optibac’ brand, so occasional additional support duties may be required in other areas of the business.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILTIES

The post covers three key areas:
Brand and Commercial Support:
- Assist in developing and executing Optibac’s strategy for engaging with healthcare professionals, aligning with the CVR framework (Credibility, Visibility, and Recommendation).
- Drive influence into market share and country growth by building strong, trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, securing key recommendations from HCP’s.
- Explore market trends within healthcare professionals sector to identify opportunities for product endorsements and increased clinical visibility.
Clinical Support and Development:
- Identify and implement projects that integrate Optibac Probiotics into Health care professionals environments, creating tailored training programs and awareness initiatives to enhance adoption in clinical settings.
- Collaborate on developing scientific educational resources and training to enhance product understanding and promote evidence-based usage within the healthcare community.
Training & Education:
- Support the delivery of training sessions, webinars, and educational programs for healthcare professionals, with a focus on scientific accuracy and relevance.
- Represent Optibac at healthcare events, including conferences and trade shows, with occasional weekend support.
- Explore new educational partnerships with healthcare organisations, functional medicine clinics, and digital platforms to increase product awareness and recommendations.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare influencers to further strengthen Optibac’s visibility within the healthcare sector.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong administration skills
- Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare frameworks, with the ability to proactively identify clinical opportunities.
- Strong organisational and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver scientific content clearly and effectively.
- A proactive, learning-oriented mindset, eager to contribute to the brand’s growth and success.
- A full clean drivers licence is essential for this role with access to a well maintained vehicle and relevant insurance for business use.
KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience/ currently working within and have an understanding for both primary and secondary care settings and the relevance of pharmacy in the system.
- Familiar with Dublin HCP’s locations, contacts and relevant processes.
- Knowledge of the IPHA Code of Practice desirable.
- Commercial awareness, business insight and a proactive approach to identifying and leveraging opportunities within the healthcare sector.
- Experience in educational outreach and ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific information using clear and engaging language, ensuring complex concepts are accessible to diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage clinical professionals and stakeholders.
