Description
You will be working as a Night Support Worker at one of our Children’s residential services in Wolverhampton. You will be caring for Children between the ages of 5 – 18. The service provides care and support for individuals who have severe learning difficulties, Autism, ADHD and associated behavioural challenges, children accommodated at the home may also present with EBD, sensory impairment, physical disabilities and complex health care needs.
Duties
You will be working 12 hr Wake Night Shifts 9pm - 9am and the rota does include alternate weekends. You will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people.
- You will perform regular observations of the children throughout the night to ensure they are safe and settled.
- Respond to the children when needed throughout the night, including support with personal care where necessary.
- You will also undertake cleaning and laundry duties over the shift and may also support with food preparation for the next day.
- In the morning you will support with getting the children up and ready for the day before the end of your shift.
Qualifications / Experience
Successful candidates will ideally have or be willing to work towards:
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (Social Care Pathway)
- You will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs, however we will consider candidates from EBD residential settings also.
Skills/Abilities

- Experience of Conflict Management and dealing with difficult, and potentially high-pressure situations
