Description

As Despatch Team Member you will contribute to all food manufacturing activities across the operations of Deli*Lites as designated by the management team.  You will also adhere to all company’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Duties

  •  Producing all customer orders in a fast and efficient manner to ensure quality is consistently high, productivity levels are met at all times through to dispatch of finished product and distribution
  • Complying and adhering to all hygiene practices, company health & safety, product quality and product safety procedures
  • Carrying out any reasonable work requests / instructions as directed by the management team  including supervisors and team leaders
  • Adhering to the shift rota and ensuring you report to work on time
  • Ensuring any relevant record documentation is completed accurately in your area of work and in a timely manner
  • Receiving, storing and stock taking as agreed with management
  • Ensuring the goods intake database are completed accurately for each supplier of raw material (ingredients, packaging, mixes), and that the supplier approval process is followed
  • Allowing receipt & subsequent intake of only products that comply to company specification (s)
  • Undertaking regular stock counts and recording stock accordingly including packaging materials, ensuring that stock rotation of ingredients, mixes and any WIP products are on FIFO basis or “use first.”
  • Ensuring all food and non-foods are stored, rotated and labelled appropriately, including making sure that the colour coded labels are utilised in the mix room and vegetable preparation room correctly and that any mix / ingredient identified as “use first,” on a daily basis by QA staff are taken to the lines that morning for production and highlighted to the relevant line leaders.
  • Ensuring that the work area is clean, tidy and free from hazards, employing “clean as you go,” practices during the production shift.
  • Assembling orders and dispatching into chill area to meet strict deadlines and ensure that despatch requirements are fully met
  • Ensuring that any intake delivery which warrants an internal rejection note or non-conformance are raised and that ‘damaged’ products are suitably identified, segregated and this notified and reported to the Quality Department
  • Dispatching only products according to company specification, and undertaking visual product checks on packaging, labelling and finished product presentation.
  • Help in other departments when requested and required   
  • Reporting any problems in the production process to Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader and ensure safety and compliance at all times
  • Maintaining equipment and work practices within the production department in order to achieve maximum production efficiency, consistent product quality and minimal wastage
  • Adhering to all health and safety requirements of the job as indicated by the Manager, supervisor, Team Leader
  • Reading, acceptance & compliance of all risk assessments of equipment
  • Adhering to all relevant COSHH regulations for chemicals used on site as indicated by supervisor or nominee.  Specifically ensuring that all chemical containers are marked with the correct contents and the % concentration
  • Undertake any job specific training as required by the Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader, Training Co-ordinator and demanded by the post
  • Be aware of and follow all hygiene requirements of Deli*Lites
  • Undertaking cleaning duties related to maintaining the ‘Good Housekeeping’ & ‘Good Manufacturing,’ standards within all operational departments
  • Reporting all unsafe equipment and potential hazards / risks to a member of the Management Team, supervisor / team leader
  • Ensuring that personal hygiene is maintained at all times
  • To produce labels for finished products that are accurate, legible, clear, and ensure retention of each label printed are collated at the end of the production day and stored securely for traceability
  • Replenish and ensure upkeep of front & back label stock
  • When there is a need identified that warrants a label amend, to assist the NPD team in making the correct changes to the label database
  • To undertake label verification checks ensuring the labels are correct, all information is accurate and the use-by and retail price is correct in compliance with the shelf-life matrix
