Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plans Examiner/Building Inspector III to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with State and municipal codes and ordinances for building.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Conduct inspections and plan reviews for residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-family construction sites
• Enforce compliance with regulatory codes, laws, and ordinances
• Work independently on plan review and inspections
• Represent the Building Official during inspections
• Make decisions exercising technical judgment
• Review and inspect permit applications for compliance
• Maintain records and documentation
• Calculate permit fees and provide explanations to the public
• Conduct compliance verifications for contractor licensing and registration
• Manage phased development and deferred submittal processes
• Conduct pre-development, plan intake, and pre-construction meetings
• Consult with contractors, builders, and the public
• Coordinate with other city divisions and governmental agencies
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Building Inspection Technology or related field and four years of formal experience in construction management, architecture, structural engineering, building design, construction, inspection, and/or plan review or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Certifications:
- Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC)
- State of Oregon A-Level Structural Plans Examiner (PEA)
- State of Oregon Building Fire and Life Safety Plans Examiner (PEF)
- State of Oregon Residential Plans Examiner (CAX)
- State of Oregon A-level Structural Inspector (SIA)
- State of Oregon A-level Mechanical Inspector (MIA)
- State of Oregon Residential Structural Inspector (CAS)
- State of Oregon Residential Plumbing Inspector (CAP) (preferred-not required)
- State of Oregon Plumbing Inspector (PI) (preferred-not required)
- Valid Oregon class C driver's license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards
- Must pass the pre-employment background check
