QHSE Advisor 

 

At Osprey shipping based we are proud to be based on Hinkley Point C, Europe’s largest construction project, which when constructed will deliver clean and sustainable power to 6 million households. 

 

We deliver ‘Abnormal Indivisible Loads’ or AILs onto site using both marine and road-based methods.  Once onsite we hold critical infrastructure components until required at their destination.  Once called forward we then transport and install these items in close collaboration with the final positioning contractors. 

  

We are growing and, subsequently, are looking for a professionally qualified and experienced QHSE Advisor to support our Nuclear Projects Installations Team. This is an exciting new role, with huge growth potential and the ability to work within an experienced and supportive team.  

 

Responsibilities for a QHSE Advisor: 

  • Facilitate positive change and support continual improvement of the project  

  • Effective communication and listening skills  

  • Hazard and risks control through well thought-out solutions arrived at in a collaborative way 

  • Someone who is competent in keeping colleagues H&S at the forefront of all we do, a person who has developed environmental and sustainability focus. 

  • Committed to doing the right thing first time. 

  • Ability to minimise complacency within long projects and keep the QHSE direction fresh, interactive and evolving 

  • Committed to QHSE excellence and taking team members on a continual improvement journey 

  • Someone who can champion the nuclear safety culture, lead the project and our colleagues.  The nuclear safety culture is critical in maintaining the safe status of the Hinkley Point C project 

  • Site working overtime as and when required to fulfil requirements of the role 

 

  

Qualificationfor a QHSE Advisor:  

  • NEBOSH construction or General Certificate (or Equivalent NVQ3 QHS) Level 6 OSwould be beneficial but not required 

  • TechIOSH Membership as a minimumCertIOSH would be beneficial 

  • Committed to CPD, and evidenced through a membership platform such as IOSH Blueprint (or similar) 

  • IEMA or ISEP Foundation Certificate (or similar environmental certificate) 

  • ISO9001 or ISO45001 Lead Auditor, with experience in quality management 

  • Experience of working on large construction projects, operations involving heavy lifting cranes, gantry cranes, self-propelled modular trailers, jacking and skidding operations, and the regulatory compliance involved with keeping these operations safe.
