Ground Operations Agent (part time)
Location: Southampton Airport
Reporting to: Duty Managers – Southampton
Hours: 20 hours per week, on a shift basis of 4 days on, 2 days off. Will involve early and late shifts.

This role is essential to the safe, efficient and effective arrival and departure of all Aurigny aircraft. From welcoming passengers at check-in to guiding aircraft on the ramp, no two days are the same — and every task matters.
What You’ll Be Doing
Customer Services Responsibilities
You will play a key role in delivering a positive and professional passenger experience by:
- Processing passengers, baggage and payload for inbound and outbound flights
- Operating company communication and computer systems accurately and efficiently
- Collecting excess baggage charges during check-in duties
- Acting as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, complaints and issues, handling all matters with professionalism and empathy
- Initiating appropriate action for mishandled or damaged baggage or payload
- Supporting customers requiring special handling
Ramp and Aircraft Handling Duties
On the ramp, you’ll be directly involved in aircraft handling and ground operations, including:
- Driving and maintaining all company vehicles and equipment
- Operating all ground support equipment safely and efficiently
- Loading and unloading baggage manually and mechanically
- Handling loose cargo of varying weights and sizes
- Conducting aircraft inspections and area hazard checks
- Performing headset and pushback duties
- Positioning and removing steps
- Operating equipment requiring climbing to heights of up to 8 feet
- Carrying out de-icing and snow clearing procedures as required
- Reporting any damage, faults or irregularities immediately, regardless of circumstance

- Flexible approach to working hours, including early starts, late finishes, weekends and holidays
- Full, clean driving licence
- Demonstrated self-motivation with a willingness to take on additional responsibility
Essential Requirements
Due to the operational and security-sensitive nature of this role, candidates must:
- A full and clean driving licence
- Provide a full five-year referencing history
- Successfully obtain an enhanced Police Clearance Certificate, deemed satisfactory to Aurigny and airport authorities
