Ground Operations Agent (part time)

Location: Southampton Airport

Reporting to: Duty Managers – Southampton

Hours: 20 hours per week, on a shift basis of 4 days on, 2 days off. Will involve early and late shifts.

This role is essential to the safe, efficient and effective arrival and departure of all Aurigny aircraft. From welcoming passengers at check-in to guiding aircraft on the ramp, no two days are the same — and every task matters.

What You’ll Be Doing

Customer Services Responsibilities

You will play a key role in delivering a positive and professional passenger experience by:

• Processing passengers, baggage and payload for inbound and outbound flights
• Operating company communication and computer systems accurately and efficiently
• Collecting excess baggage charges during check-in duties
• Acting as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, complaints and issues, handling all matters with professionalism and empathy
• Initiating appropriate action for mishandled or damaged baggage or payload
• Supporting customers requiring special handling

Ramp and Aircraft Handling Duties

On the ramp, you’ll be directly involved in aircraft handling and ground operations, including:

• Driving and maintaining all company vehicles and equipment
• Operating all ground support equipment safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading baggage manually and mechanically
• Handling loose cargo of varying weights and sizes
• Conducting aircraft inspections and area hazard checks
• Performing headset and pushback duties
• Positioning and removing steps
• Operating equipment requiring climbing to heights of up to 8 feet
• Carrying out de-icing and snow clearing procedures as required
• Reporting any damage, faults or irregularities immediately, regardless of circumstance

• Full, clean driving licence
• Demonstrated self-motivation with a willingness to take on additional responsibility

Essential Requirements

Due to the operational and security-sensitive nature of this role, candidates must:

• A full and clean driving licence
• Provide a full five-year referencing history
• Successfully obtain an enhanced Police Clearance Certificate, deemed satisfactory to Aurigny and airport authorities
