Hours: Part time job share - 2.5 days per week + 13 Saturdays per year) term time only

At Bradfield College, we believe that a thriving boarding community is built on care, guidance and strong pastoral support. We are seeking a Day Matron to join the team in one of our senior boarding houses.

About the Role
As Day Matron, you will play a central role in the daily life of the boarding house. Working closely with the Housemaster/Housemistress and the wider house team, you will support the health, wellbeing and pastoral care of our pupils, helping to ensure they feel safe, valued and well cared for throughout their time at the College.
You will support pupils in their day-to-day routines and help maintain a positive, well-organised boarding environment, the role occasionally involves accompanying pupils off site to appointments.
In addition, you will undertake key administrative responsibilities, including registration, maintaining accurate welfare and medical records, and supporting effective communication within the house and with wider College departments.
Working Pattern
This is a job share position with the following hours:
Option 1
· Monday & Tuesday: 07:30 – 18:00
· Wednesday: 07:30 – 13:00 (5.5 hours)
Option 2
· Thursday & Friday: 07:30 – 18:00
· Wednesday: 12:30 – 18:00 (5.5 hours)
Plus:
- Alternate Saturdays: 07:30 – 18:00
(13 Saturdays per academic year)
About You
Matrons play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our pupils. We are therefore looking for someone who is:
· Passionate about pastoral care and student wellbeing
· Calm, caring and approachable
· Practical, proactive and well organised
· A strong communicator and supportive team player
· Confident using IT systems for record-keeping and communication
Previous experience working with children or young people would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Above all, we are looking for someone who can build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues and contribute to a nurturing, supportive environment where pupil welfare is always the highest priority.
