Description
The Role:
Due to the success of our business, we are looking to recruit a Fibre Delivery Manager. You will be responsible for the delivery of fibre aspects of specified FTTH deployment areas alongside day-to-day management of the fibre services team.
The role holder will lead a team of fibre engineers whilst planning and executing build plans to be complete fibre works ensuring that areas are delivered to the agreed schedule and that RFS (Ready For Service) targets are met.
As our Fibre Delivery Manager your key responsibilities will:
- Assure quality and integrity of the network by managing a robust process of validation of contractor fibre build
- Ensure contractors works are delivered on time and mitigate/highlight programme change in a timely manner.
- Provide input to the quarterly toob deployment programme.
- Monitor weekly reporting on fibre build progress, risks encountered and activities to be actioned.
- Escalate issues within the project, with risk mitigation and proactive recovery plans/suggestions, to Senior Delivery Managers.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships at a senior level as necessary to deliver the works.
- Ensure all completion documentation and as-built information is audited post hand over from the contractor, within the agreed SLA, and is checked for accuracy.
- Maintain a log of any deviation from plans, defects or changes and agree acceptance or remedial activities in conjunction with the Fibre Services Senior Manager.
- Lead and champion fibre quality, whilst promoting and managing excellent SHEQ practices across the project with the contract partner. Ensure high standards are maintained and maintain the safety of the business brand.
- Have responsibility for the Fibre Services Engineers day-to-day workload.
- Coach and mentor staff within the team on fibre regarding operational changes and standards.
- Take ownership, with the Fibre Services Engineers, for any day-to-day escalations.
- Responsible for providing support and development to your team members and ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
What you’ll bring to toob:
- Proven track record in delivering multi-site FTTH projects.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to set a good example to others.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage/communicate with senior management, clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to pass on knowledge effectively.
- A strong technical understanding of telecoms fibre optic networks (Overhead, Underground, Blown Fibre, PIA)
- Experience on FTTH validation and testing methods, including, but not limited to, understanding and operation of IOLM testing and Exchange reporting portal.
- Ability to see the detail required to bring a task to completion
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good commercial awareness
- Live within a commutable distance to our network areas
- Holder of a full UK driver license and no more than 6 penalty points for company vehicle insurance purposes
