Description
The Role:
The Stock Controller will be responsible for Managing the Inventory Control Process in all storage areas.
The Stock Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining the company Stock management policies and Goals whilst maintaining standards in budget control and customer satisfaction.
The Stock Controller works closely with other departments including Manufacturing, Storage, Finance, Planning, Bakery, Logistics, Procurement and Sales Orders to provide a holistic service to our internal and external customers.
Member of the Supply Chain Team, reporting into the Logistics and Warehousing Manager, based at Warrenpoint, Newry, Northern Ireland.
Direct reports – Stock Controllers and Low Risk Runners.
Stock control Managers Duties:
- Consider People, Planet and Profit in all decisions.
- Manage stock controllers and Low Risk Runners
- Ensuring that the Warehouse Protocols are being adhered to in all areas.
- Responsibility for maintaining accurate stock values on the ERP system.
- Setting max/min levels for all stock items based on usage and forecasts.
- Measuring ingredient yield through the manufacturing process based on needs V usage.
- Co-ordinating internal daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Monitoring supply levels/usage figures and effectively communicating with Procurement.
- Managing stock rotation and use by date monitoring.
- Proactive waste, over stocking and shortage avoidance.
- Supporting the Intake team, to ensure goods are received in full, to spec and in satisfactory condition.
- Lead the process for stock allocation and bills of materials allocation to production for all components.
- Ensure that our Total Storage Capacity is maintained within target and liaising with key stakeholders in each area.
- Work closely with all business departments to achieve best results for Stock control and it’s variances.
- Assist on driving Lean Manufacture, standardisation, and continuous improvement across the storage areas.
- Work closely with and facilitate the Business Support and IT functions of the site to facilitate Digital transformation on stock management and stock takes.
- Contribute to the culture team and help to create an environment where we retain our teams and nurture them to be the best versions of themselves at work.
- Support the Technical Team with Internal Audits and Supplier Audits.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Experience as a warehouse supervisor/manager or inventory controller
- Strong people and time management skills
Desirable Attributes
- Proven experience within a fast-moving warehouse environment.
- Previous experience using ERP software solutions.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of MS office suite.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Proven team player with history of collaboration across depts.
- Excellent manager with an ability to get the best from people.
