Support Worker - Young Adults Community and Residential Support – Salary package up to £31,900 (SA)

This Support worker role offers a salary of between £11.50 - £12.50 per Hour (Basic salary based on competency based qualifying criteria) plus the opportunity to increase earnings through regular overtime opportunities paid at £14.00 - £15.00 per hr.

This support worker role is a “dual” role. You will be working as a support worker out in the community, taking young people to activities, or visiting them in their own home to support them in their daily routines and activities too. You will also support our young adults in our “short stay/respite breaks”, 6 bedded Young Adults residential service.

You will be caring for Young Adults between the ages of 16 - 25. The service provides care and support for individuals who have severe learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex health needs who require 24-hour specialist care and support.

You will be working Early shifts, late shifts, long days and the rota does include alternate weekends. You will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to the adults accessing the service.

Duties:

· To provide a safe, caring and consistent home life for each young person, whether in the community or in our short stay residential home.

· To empower and enable young people to achieve their individual goals and full potential and strive towards building confidence and independence.

· To be a positive role model at all times.

· To ensure the respect and dignity of young people is maintained at all times

· To ensure the delivery of appropriate care and support is given with sensitivity.

· To promote equality and diversity.

· Support and cooperate with the effective and efficient operation of the service.

· Ensure all health and educational needs of the young people are met.

· To encourage and develop the life skills necessary to support independence.

· To plan and undertake relevant leisure activities with young people.

· Undertake keyworker/co-keyworker responsibilities and duties where necessary.

· To adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, legislative and reporting requirements.

You must be able to demonstrate that you have:

NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or in Residential Care or equivalent, and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
