Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Temporary Permit Technician to join our team. As a Permit Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local regulations and facilitating the smooth execution of community development projects. The role is limited to 6 months, starting in beginning of September, 2024. 

Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and processing permit applications, assign plan reviews to building inspector/plan reviewer crew, and maintaining accurate records on e-permitting system.

To excel in this role, you should possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience working in an e-permitting environment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal communication and customer service skills to work with residents, contractors and coworkers; be required to exercise discretion and tact, and be a "self-starter" to work through problems independently. 

High School Diploma or GED, and 3 years of progressive experience in administrative support and customer service, preferably in a planning, building, or engineering area,  or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. The successful candidate must pass the pre-employment background check. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
