We are looking for a Service Designer to join our growing design team! 

 

Are you a junior-to-midweight Service Designer with a good understanding of Design Thinking, excellent client-facing skills, and a great track record on project delivery? 

 

We are looking for a Designer to join a collaborative team, passionate about pushing boundaries in service innovation, tackling complex challenges, and delivering meaningful change and impact. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those with non-traditional paths into Service Design.

What will you be doing? 

 

Designers at Magnetic share a common base set of skills. They include Visual Design, Design Thinking and Prototyping. As a Service Designer at Magnetic, you will champion skills in designing seamless end-to-end experiences for both the end-user and the organisation providing them. As a member of our service design team, you will:

  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to inform and validate design decisions, ensuring services deliver measurable value to both users and the business.
  • Map and analyse end-to-end service journeys.
  • Design service blueprints that align with user and organisational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to experiment and integrate services.
  • Design and facilitate workshops focused on service innovation or improving operational processes.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to co-create service models that are both user-centred and operationally feasible
  • Identify and implement solutions that improve efficiency, reduce friction in service delivery, and drive customer satisfaction

 

What are we looking for?

 

We are looking for a Service Designer who is:

  • Experienced in Design Thinking; with demonstrable experience across the private and public sectors.
  • Able to conduct user research to uncover needs, pain points, and opportunities, and integrate findings into service solutions.
  • Experienced in service blueprinting, journey mapping, and systems to identify opportunities and drive impact and innovation.
  • Proficient with tools such as Miro, FigJam, or other collaboration platforms to visualise and communicate service concepts effectively.
  • Able to translate complex processes into actionable design strategies that align with organisational objectives.
  • Able to establish metrics for service success and use them to iterate and refine ideas and outputs over time.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, pivoting between projects when needed.
  • Ambitious, collaborative and results-focused, with a strong team mindset.
