Role & Responsibilities

The Returns Supervisor will play a vital role in managing the day‑to‑day operations of the returns department, overseeing technicians and ensuring the smooth, accurate and safe flow of inbound equipment. They are responsible for supervising, training and developing staff. They will need to act professionally to ensure all returned, missing or damaged items are properly recorded and communicated. The role includes coordinating deliveries with distribution teams, managing vehicle unloading, enforcing health and safety standards, and leading quality control processes to ensure equipment is inspected, tracked and stored correctly. The Returns Supervisor also works closely with inventory, repairs, operations and sales teams to support job close‑downs, stock movement, replenishment and accurate reporting. In addition, they contribute to procedural documentation, uphold departmental systems, and continually improve storage solutions and operational efficiency across the returns area.

 

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will be an experienced lighting industry professional who is confident working in a fast‑paced environment and managing multiple priorities at once. They will be confident in using IT Systems and comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel. They will be able to quickly learn internal systems such as Rental Tracker Pro. Strong communication skills are essential, enabling them to give clear guidance to clients and build effective working relationships across teams. They will be self‑motivated, organised, and capable of working autonomously when needed. This is particularly necessary during audits; stock takes and departmental projects. The role requires someone who can stay calm under pressure, meet challenging deadlines, and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

 

What’s on offer

This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour working week, operating on a rotating shift basis between 7:00am and 8:00pm, which includes some weekend work.  We offer a competitive salary with the opportunity to earn regular overtime.
