The Role

You will be working as a Team Leader in our 6 bedded Adults residential service in the heart of Wednesbury. You will be caring for Young Adults between the ages of 18 - 35. The service provides care and support for individuals who have Learning Disabilities and physical, sensory and invasive care needs.

The aim of Wellcroft House is to provide a Person Centred self-directed service focusing on promoting choice and independence for each individual. Our emphasis is on creating a better quality of life for people with disabilities by providing planned holistic services to suit the needs of each individual and support their personal growth and independence.

As a Team Leader, you will support the management team to maintain a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to the adults who are accessing the service. Your role will be to encourage them to develop new skills and to be the best that they can be, whilst also providing the highest quality of care and support to our people.

This is a hands’ on role and you will be leading the shift and supervising staff whilst still providing direct support to the people in your care. This is a full time, shift based position working 40 hrs per week and will include working at weekends.

Qualifications / Experience

Successful candidates will need to have:

  • NVQ 3 Diploma or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or in Residential Care or equivalent, and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
    Ideally, you be willing to work towards Leadership and Management and QCF level 5 Care or equivalent (Social work qualifications or nursing qualifications would also be accepted).
    A full clean driving license is also essential.
  • You will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
  • Experience of managing staff including doing supervisions and supporting with recruitment.
  • Undertaking CQC audits and ensuring compliance for inspections.
  • Experience of updating support plans and liaising with families and external agencies.
