Bradfield College & St Andrew’s Berkshire are co-educational independent boarding and day schools set within 250 acres of stunning Berkshire countryside, combining historic buildings with modern academic, boarding, sports and performance facilities. The College and school operate seven days a week and remains active year-round, welcoming pupils, staff, families and guests for a range of purposes.
We are looking for a Housekeeping Porter to join the team. This role plays an essential part in supporting the housekeeping and laundry teams to achieve outstanding cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across the College.
The Role
Reporting to the Laundry Supervisor, the Housekeeping Porter is responsible for the day‑to‑day transportation of College laundry, to and from various locations across site
The role also involves, processing requests for stock required by the housekeeping team across the site and its delivery to the relevant areas. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport laundry between boarding houses, laundry facilities and storage points across the College.
- Deliver cleaning consumables and supplies (e.g., paper goods, chemicals, bin liners) to housekeeping areas as scheduled.
- Support housekeeping teams by replenishing stock and assisting with equipment setup or movement when required.
- Safely handle and operate manual handling equipment such as trolleys, carts and laundry cages.
- Assist with rubbish and recycling collection, transporting waste to designated disposal points.
- Respond promptly to urgent requests for laundry movement, consumables or operational support.
- Move furniture, equipment or materials to support cleaning activities, deep cleans and term‑time transitions.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movement, deliveries and shortages, reporting issues when needed.
- Follow all health & safety, safeguarding, COSHH and manual handling procedures at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
You do not need previous experience to apply, full training will be provided. We are looking for reliable, practical individuals who take pride in their work.
A Full Valid UK driving license is required for this role

Previous experience in laundry, cleaning or a similar role is helpful but not essential.
