Description
Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Head of Retail to lead, inspire and motivate our incredible retail teams across the three amazing shops in our portfolio.
Charity retail is a vibrant, challenging, fast paced and innovative retail sector. It will challenge everything you thought you knew about retail! We need a Head of Retail with commercial acumen, experience, agility, creativity and new ideas for revenue opportunities to make our stores really shine. This is a sector where you can really make a difference, bringing all your retail experience and knowledge to support the incredible financial contribution to the costs of running Hospice services.
JHC currently has three shops, each with its own vibe, strengths and challenges: one in St Helier (Town Shop), one in St Ouen (West Shop) and one in Grouville (East Shop at Holme Grown). You will be leading a team of passionate, committed and hard-working colleagues and volunteers.
The role is a mix of strategic development and innovation, alongside a hands-on operational oversight and management to maximising the profitability of existing operations. This role is part of the Hospice Senior Leadership Team and contributes to wider Hospice objectives and activities. The variety and ability to work alongside colleagues from different teams is a real advantage for this role, and you will see and experience just what a difference Hospice care makes for islanders.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, strategic thinker, possessing a minimum of 5 years of retail leadership experience gained in commercial or charity roles, with a demonstrable track record of results delivery. As an inspirational leader, who communicates effectively at all levels, you will build trust and confidence across the organisation, with retail colleagues and with our community of volunteers. You will be experienced in developing and leading on projects, with the ability to work collaboratively, influencing stakeholder support to guarantee success.
Does this sound like you? We would love to hear from you, so please do get in touch, or submit your application now!
Interviews will be held 8-10 April 2026.
