Volunteer Receptionist/Administrator
Location: Herriot Hospice - The Lambert, 2 Chapel Street, Thirsk, YO7 1LU
Hours: Flexible hours – Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Volunteers generally undertake to cover a 4 hour shift 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm
Closing Date: 29th January 2025
Interviews will likely be held in Thirsk or Harrogate
An exciting opportunity to join our team of Volunteers supporting the Reception and Administration staff based at Herriot Hospice@The Lambert, who are the first point of contact for anybody arriving at our new Hospice.
Key responsibilities will include answering and directing telephone enquiries, greeting patients and clients, their visitors and staff, ensuring they are warmly welcomed at all times, as well as undertaking a variety of administration tasks.
The Reception desk is staffed Monday to Friday and volunteers can undertake part or full day cover. The volunteer rota is set a month in advance and volunteers will be contacted to gain their availability at least 2 weeks in advance.
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, we are not currently able to consider applicants who do not have the right to work in the UK.
Perspective volunteers will be contacted via the telephone initially and if appropriate will then be invited for an interview, where they will have the opportunity to see in more detail what the role involves.
