About this role 

A career in communications is diverse and dynamic. Spanning PR and social media the Citypress graduate programme will expose you to every discipline. 

Structured as a 12-month training placement in one of our agency’s Sector or Specialist teams, you will work on campaigns for some of the UK’s biggest brands, learning from some of the most experienced consultants in the industry. 

Based in either our Manchester, Edinburgh or London office, you will also have the opportunity to work with our Research, Analytics, Public Affairs and specialist creative teams. 

Open to anyone who is due to graduate before September or who has graduated within the last three years, the programme guarantees a permanent role on completion. 

Role requirements 

  • A passion for communication, current affairs, the news, media and social media 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate a considered point of view. 
  • Strong writing skills, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Intellectual curiosity and keeness to develop new skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 15-minute video call interview which will take place the week commencing 2nd or 9th  June 2025.  

If successful, you will be asked to supply a short-written submission based on a supplied topic and invited to participate in an assessment day on Tuesday 15th July in our Manchester office. Participation in our assessment day is compulsory so please ensure you can be free on this date. 

Our assessment day is designed to be fun and informative. 

Offers for graduate roles will be made on or before 18th July with a 1st September start date. 

If you need to travel from outside the Greater Manchester region to attend our assessment day, we’ll be happy to cover any travel expenses. 

We are a Real Living Wage employer. The starting salary for this role is £24,570 (£27,007 in London)
