Production Manager

Employing over 500 people at our Hixon, Staffordshire base, this is an incredible opportunity to be part of a thriving privately-owned business. The Hex Group consists of a number of divisions and this role would be based at Atlas Coating Ltd, our powder coating division. 

The Role 

The Production Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our powder coating facility. Primary duties will include planning, co-ordinating and controlling all the steps in the production process to make sure products are delivered on time and within the budget, while managing the team to ensure these objectives are met. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Plan and organise production resources in order to meet customer requirements
  • Monitor and control production key performance indicators of cost, quality, delivery, housekeeping, absence etc in accordance with company requirements
  • Support and drive continuous improvement activities in order to optimise costs, equipment and processes
  • Leadership of direct reports, building effective teams, developing motivation and commitment, maintaining morale and managing performance
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including Health and Safety

Skills/experience required: 

  • Previous experience in a powder coating, paint spraying or metal finishing environment would be an advantage
  • Management or supervisory experience in a production environment
  • Strong organisation and decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Able to demonstrate the Implementation of efficiency improvements in a previous role
  • A sound understanding of shop floor health & safety & safe working practices
