Adults Residential Support Worker - up to £31,900 salary package.

The Support worker role offers an outstanding salary of between £11.50 - £12.50 per Hour (Basic salary based on competency based qualifying criteria) and regular overtime opportunities (paid between £14.00 - £15.00) to further increase earnings.

The Role

You will be working as a Support Worker in our 6 bedded Adults residential service in the heart of Wednesbury town centre, accessible to local amenities and convenient for local public transport links.

You will be caring for Young Adults between the ages of 18 - 40. The service provides care and support for individuals who have Learning Disabilities and physical, sensory and invasive care needs.

As a support worker, you will support the management team to maintain a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to the adults who are accessing the service. Your role will be to encourage them to develop new skills and to be the best that they can be, whilst also providing the highest quality of care and support to our people.

 

You will be caring, compassionate, have a fantastic work ethic and be able to work on your own initiative, whilst following the support and care plans provided for the people we support.

Duties

Provide a safe, caring and consistent home life for each young person.

To empower and enable young people to achieve their individual goals and full potential and strive towards building confidence and independence.

·        To ensure the respect and dignity of young people is maintained at all times.

·        To ensure the delivery of appropriate care and support is given with sensitivity.

·        To promote equality and diversity.

·        To support and cooperate with the effective and efficient operation of the service.

·        Ensure all health and educational needs of the young people are met.

·        To encourage and develop the life skills necessary to support independence.

·        To plan and undertake relevant leisure activities with young people.

·        Undertake keyworker/co-keyworker responsibilities and duties where necessary.

·        To adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, legislative and reporting requirements.

·        To actively participate in continuing professional development.

 

Qualifications / Experience

Successful candidates will need to have:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma or QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or in Residential Care or equivalent, and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a residential setting.
  • Ideally you will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs, however we will consider candidates from EBD residential settings also.
