Description

An Audio Engineer is a seasoned technician that functions in their experienced field as a dedicated technician/engineer, while concurrently functioning as onsite leadership contributing to the overall scope of the event with client interaction and input. This person will be intrinsically motivated toward personal excellence within their particular expertise and will also insure event quality in their assigned area(s).  This position will require decision, delegation, and decision-making that will affect client experience and show quality.  

Position Accountabilities and Expectations:

·         Work on the jobsite as A1, A2, Audio Utility and/or Lead Tech.

 

·         Demonstrate strong leadership skills by communicating concisely via email, phone or in person.

 

·         Supervise and delegate onsite audio/staging projects and other event related tasks to crew in timely and professional manner in accordance with event scope and timeline

 

·         Maintain and update Outlook with tasks, appointments, meetings and other event related activities.

 

·         This person may be appointed a technical position in addition to a leadership position within the scope of an event where they will be responsible for supporting the excellence of the event. 

 

·         They may also be responsible for show flow in their particular location or event wide and must solicit input from client to drive the event communicating client needs/desires to other crew members in a concise technical fashion to insure excellence. 

 

·         Ability to be trained and understand different manufacturers products, as well as train/mentor others

 

·         Significant knowledge of all AV disciplines

 

·         Follow and adhere to all IMS policies, procedures and company values

 

What you will bring:

 

·         3-4 Years of experience in Audio live event audio systems and signal workflow

 

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred in Communications, Marketing or equivalent work experience

 

·         Proven track record of excellent internal and external customer service

 

·         Proficient at using MS Office Suite. And PC and Mac knowledge and usage 

 

·         A strong knowledge of our industry, live events, technology products and services, as well as those of our competitors and clients in order to make sound decisions.

 

·         Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively manage numerous events and resources simultaneously.

 

·         Mastery of audio set-up and operation, including but not limited to: analog audio consoles, digital audio consoles, wired com, wireless com, digital intercom, flown & ground supported point source speakers, flown line array speakers, line array calculators, wireless microphones, wireless microphone coordination, Qlab audio playback, SMAART system tuning

 

·         Capable of working independently or leading any size team

 

·         Client-facing experience is critical, must be comfortable and polished presenting information to groups; as well as effectively responding to feedback from clients and project team.

 

·         Written and verbal communication skills

 

·         A demonstrated and consistent positive attitude in high-pressure situations while driving successful results in accordance with client’s vision

 

·         Ability to apply best practices and learnings from previous events to elevate performance level of self and team.

 

·         Exceptional communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

 

·         An ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary

 

·         Excellent driving record
