Essential Skills and Experience
-
Deep understanding of the Unreal Engine 5 content creation pipeline (Blueprints, modelling/UV’ing, texturing/shading - knowledge of HLSL required, lighting, FX, and rigging/animation)

Knowledge of computer hardware specifications in relation to project requirements and deployment (pixel streaming and on-premise)

Demonstrated experience in helping shape and evolve art pipelines, including proprietary tools, software, plug-ins, and game technology
-
Demonstrated experience identifying and driving performance goals and optimizations for development on PC (profiling tools for performance reviews and optimisation)
-
Effective communication skills and drive to deliver consistently on time, acting as a bridge and balancing the needs between Creative and Technical requirements

Demonstrated problem solving ability with excellent attention to detail, time management and presentation skills
Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience as a Technical Artist - highly advantageous

Experience with Unreal Insights - highly advantageous

Experience with the Substance suite - highly advantageous

Experience with design and deployment of VR - advantageous

Experience with Niagara - advantageous

As an Interactive Technical Artist, your roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

In the early stages of projects production:
-
Establish quick, efficient and clear pipelines (particularly with regards to data ingestion into Unreal from 3D CAD packages)

Prepare coherent documentation for pipelines, tools and procedures;
-
Do benchmarking for the project features through research and testing;
-
Prototype features and provide transparent accounts of their performance;
-
Work on creating asset banks (such as textures).

During production and its later stages:
-
Executing on direction from Project Lead and/or Art Director of the project requirements related to the technical output.

Ensure coworkers adhere to procedures and standards you’ve established;

Update documentation;
-
Fix performance bugs and polish project features.

Support/Train Artists in the studio to raise the bar creatively, by developing and disseminating technical workflows and creating artist tools
