Join Our Team as In-Patient Unit – Ward Assistant Volunteer!

Barnsley Hospice is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to join our team and support the vital work we do across our services.
Our volunteers play an essential role in helping us provide specialist care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families. By giving your time, skills and enthusiasm, you will help us continue delivering care that truly matters.
About the Role
As a volunteer, you may support the hospice in a variety of ways depending on the role. This could include:
- Assist ward staff with bed making
- Assist in movement and cleaning of equipment from the ward
- Assist ward clerk with clerical tasks e.g., photocopying, answering phone calls
- Assist with patient orientation of the ward
- Assist staff to prepare patients for discharge home or inpatient treatment
- Help serve food and beverages for patients (not feeding)
