Build the Future — Inspire the Next Generation of Engineers

Engineering is at the heart of innovation, design, and problem-solving in the modern world. In this role, you’ll bring your knowledge of mechanical engineering into the classroom, helping students understand how technical principles are applied in real-world settings.

We’re looking for someone who can turn engineering concepts into engaging learning — whether through design, manufacturing, or the use of industry-standard tools such as CAD. Your ability to make technical content clear, practical, and relevant will help students develop a strong understanding of how engineering works in practice.

Through hands-on teaching and real-world insight, you will help learners build the technical skills, confidence, and problem-solving ability needed to progress into engineering careers, apprenticeships, or further study.

The Role

You will join the Engineering and Built Environment Department at Stanmore College and contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.

You will:

  • Teach Mechanical Engineering courses from Level 1 to Level 3, including T Levels.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that develop learners’ understanding of engineering principles and practical application.
  • Plan, assess, and provide feedback to support student progress and achievement.
  • Develop teaching materials and learning resources to support inclusive and effective learning.
  • Support practical and workshop-based learning, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and maintain high standards of teaching and assessment.
  • Support students’ academic, personal, and career development.

Why This Role Matters

Engineering skills are critical to the future workforce. In this role, you will help learners develop the knowledge, technical ability, and professional behaviours needed to succeed in the engineering sector. By connecting theory with practical application, you will prepare students for the realities of industry and help shape the next generation of engineers.
