Description

City of Woodburn has a new opening for a GIS Technician. Reporting to the City Engineer, the incumbent will develop GIS and other software databases to support Public Works department with a range of civil engineering, planning and special projects including but not limited to, construction projects, sanitary sewers, drainage, water, and road design; other maps such as zoning, comprehensive, flood plain, wetland, utilities and special use maps; perform simple spatial analysis and database queries. Develop and maintain data layers and spatial data structures using GIS tools and relational databases. Maintain metadata describing data sources, accuracy, reliability and completeness, map feature types, descriptive feature attributes and other information about GIS data layers; and prepare, design and produce a variety of maps and other graphic representations; incorporate maps, charts, spreadsheet data and text into reports; explain technical information to non-technical staff, including assisting them in accessing and Interpreting information.

Associate's degree in geographic information systems with two (2) years of experience using GIS software applications, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Valid Oregon class C driver's license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn’s driving standards; must pass the pre-employment background check; and must pass the CJIS/LEDS background and fingerprint check.

A 3% cola will be applied to the posted pay rate effective June 23, 2024, per current union contract.
