What’s the role and service?

The Knocknaheeny Brighter Futures project offers support programmes to children and parents with the specific aim of improving children’s capacity to learn and develop, and emotional wellbeing in Knocknaheeny.

The Early Years’ service provides a High/Scope toddler crèche and a Tus Maith pre-school service.

What will my day to day look like?

  • You will ensure all children attending the service receive an appropriate level of supervision
  • Supporting children in our early years’ service while playing and interacting positively with each other
  • Being vigilant for signs of abuse and neglect and immediately bringing any concerns to the attention of the child’s key worker and the Designated Person.
  • Gathering statistics and preparing reports as required.

What experience do I need? 

  • Experience of working with young children for a minimum of six months is essential.
  • Relevant voluntary work may be considered.  

Do I need a qualification?

Yes, you will need a recognised qualification minimum Level 5 on the QQI that is approved under the Early Years Regulations
