Barnsley Hospice is seeking a compassionate and motivated Staff Nurse to join our dedicated In-patient Unit team on a fixed-term contract from April 2026 to April 2027, covering maternity leave.

In this rewarding role, you will work as part of our multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding specialist palliative and end-of-life care. You will take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating personalised care for a designated group of patients, ensuring their needs and wishes and those of their families remain at the heart of everything you do.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, managing and coordinating patient care throughout your shift, supporting safe and effective admissions and discharges, communicating clearly and collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity of care, acting as a positive role model for students and volunteers, and upholding professional standards in line with NMC guidance.

About the Role:

Contract: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover – April 2026 to April 2027)
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or Part-time (hours to be agreed)
Salary: £34036 per annum (pro rata)

Note: Salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the hours worked.

  • Has recent post-registration experience
