We are seeking a skilled and motivated Barge Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of marine equipment within our heavy-lift project environment. This role works closely with the Marine Operations Lead and Barge Supervisor to ensure all barge operations, transport activities and associated marine logistics are delivered safely and effectively. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to expand their knowledge with the heavy lift and marine logistics sector while contributing to a major project environment.

 

What You’ll do

·         Safely operate all equipment on Osprey barges, including ballast pumps, winches, mooring systems, and deck layout activities

·         Support marine transportation activities safely and efficiently

·         Assist with rigging, lashing and securing equipment during barge and vessel loadouts/load-ins

·         Perform slinger/signaller duties in line with engineering guidance

·         Support mobilisation and demobilisation of deck equipment

·         Carry out preparation work including grinding and associated deck activities

·         Maintain or coordinate maintenance of all barge equipment

 

Skills & Experience

·         Experience in marine/barge operations or heavy lift logistics preferred

·         Practical rigging, equipment operation, and maintenance experience

·         Strong safety focus and teamwork skills

·         Willingness to develop professionally and work flexibility
