Process Safety Technician

The Process Safety Technician will be required to support the process safety team ensuring that process safety risks are effectively recorded and documented in line with UK regulatory requirements, Chemring Group framework, and industry best practices, safeguarding people, the environment, and assets.

 

 

The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

·           Provide advice and guidance to engineering, operations and the leadership team

·           Record process hazard analysis studies to ensure all identified hazards are adequately documented

·           Support the maintenance of Chemring Group PSM Standards locally at CCM

·           Support incident investigations and root cause analysis for process safety related events

·           Demonstrate a commitment to process safety from the whole workforce at CCM, recognising that workforce involvement is key to achieving high levels of process safety performance

·           Deliver process safety training and competency development programmes for Engineers, Operations and Technical staff

·           Support Engineering and Operational projects

·           Compiling document packs as required to support explosive licencing, ensuring compliance with UK legislation

·           Collecting, analysing and presenting data relating to process safety, including weekly and monthly reports

·           Creating and maintain documents in line with CCM standards

·           Such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time as directed by the Head of HSE

 

Process Safety Technician Specification:

·           Right to live and work in the UK

·           HNC or BTEC with appropriate experience or BSc Degree with limited industry experience in Chemistry/Engineering or relevant STEM subject

·           IT Skills

·           2D and 3D CAD experience

·           Report writing presentation skills

 

This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30. Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.
