Description
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Service open 10:00 – 23:00, 7 days per week, 365 days a year, Must be flexible and be available some weekends
Base: Colchester and Clacton Sanctuaries
Salary: £25,750 per annum
The North East Essex (NEE) Sanctuary provides support to those who are presenting with emotional distress and are at risk of escalating towards a mental health crisis. The Service Co-ordinator with form part of an experienced team to provide emotional support to people by using skills such as active listening, de-escalation and distraction techniques to prevent a high number of referrals to secondary mental health services, Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) and other emergency services.
The post holder will support the NEE Sanctuary team and volunteers by using their knowledge of the mental health in North East Essex. The post holder will be responsible for the recruitment, training and support of the volunteers who support the service.
The Service Co-ordinator will be expected to monitor, collect and record service data in line with the Service key performance indicators (KPI), and will deputise for the service manager and support the senior support workers when necessary.
The NEE Sanctuary operates from two central locations based Colchester and Clacton with some outreach services based in Harwich and Brightlingsea.
