Description

At OBW, we design and deliver high-quality engineering solutions that support critical infrastructure and industry across Ireland.  Our success is built not only on technical expertise, but on strong support functions that keep the business running smoothly.

We are seeking a Purchasing Administrator who will also support front office and general administration, acting as a key point of contact for suppliers, colleagues, and visitors. This is a varied, people‑focused role within a busy engineering environment, ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys coordinating day‑to‑day operations.

The role supports purchasing activities across the business, including vendor coordination, order tracking, ERP system updates, and reporting, while also contributing to smooth office operations and a professional front office experience. Previous purchasing or ERP experience is an advantage, but a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and attention to detail are equally important.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Procurement Support
  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with company procedures
  • Liaise with approved suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Track orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries to support project timelines
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system
  • Assist with supplier setup, documentation, and basic supplier performance tracking
  • Support the wider commercial and engineering teams with procurement-related queries

Front Office & Administrative Support
  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, callers, and general enquiries
  • Manage reception duties, meeting room bookings, and office coordination to include visitor sign-in and badge allocation, hotel bookings, ordering consumables
  • Process card payments and assist with administrative and accounts tasks.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to management and project teams as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement administration role and prior experience working with ERP systems is highly advantageous.  As is previous experience working in an engineering, construction, or technical environment.

What We Offer

  • A varied and engaging role with real responsibility and visibility
  • The opportunity to work within a growing Irish engineering company
  • Supportive team environment with strong collaboration across departments
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • A workplace that values professionalism, reliability, and continuous improvement
