Description
Through volunteering your time at North Yorkshire Hospice Care you are supporting those in our community who are experiencing terminal illness or bereavement. Volunteers are integral to the work of North Yorkshire Hospice Care and we would love to welcome you to our team.
It is essential that volunteers adhere to the role description, undertake appropriate tasks only for which they have been trained and are clear about the boundaries of this role. If volunteers are unsure about any task they have been asked to carry out, they should contact their line manager for advice. This is to ensure the safety and well-being of both clients and volunteers.
About the role:
The Volunteer Trust Fundraiser will support our Trusts Team by researching funding opportunities from charitable trusts and foundations, preparing small-scale grant applications, and helping to keep accurate records. This role would suit someone with strong written communication or research skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to our fundraising efforts.
Key tasks:
- Research charitable trusts and foundations that align with our work
- Assist in drafting and submitting small grant applications (typically under £5,000)
- Maintain and update the trust database with deadlines, outcomes, and correspondence
- Support the team with general administrative tasks related to trust fundraising
- Liaise with the Trusts and Business Intelligence Team to gather relevant service information and impact dat
Key skills/attributes required:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow templates and guidelines.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and/or databases.
- Comfortable conducting research using tools such as Google, Donor databases and sending emails/ making phone calls to trusts.
