Project Engineer

Overview of the role

To act as the Project Management Engineer responsible for all projects and engineering activities relating to a specific CCM customer, ensuring the effective planning, coordination and delivery of all tasks in accordance with programme, technical and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, plan and manage engineering tasks and projects, including definition of requirements, work packages, schedules, budgets and resource needs.
  • Support and attend customer meetings, external trials, tests and technical reviews.
  • Act as a primary engineering interface with a specific customer
  • Manage engineering tasks relating to concepts, prototypes, proof‑of‑principle builds and development batches

·         Produce and review costings, bills of materials and materials requirements

·         Lead or support the CCM New Product Process (NPP) for customer specific product developments

  • Plan, manage and report all Customer related product engineering work for CCM and customer‑specific programmes.
  • Support customer to achieve partial or full independence for certain product manufacturing processes, providing appropriate engineering guidance.
  • Support implementation of modifications to payload launch solutions in collaboration with the customer.
  • Plan and manage trials activities, including test preparation, instrumentation, data capture and reporting.
  • Support compliance with HSE and MoD regulations, relevant standards and internal DAOS / quality processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering activity and configuration.
  • Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation and continuous improvement across engineering processes.

 

Essential Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience

·         Level 6 Honors Degree with substantial relevant experience in Engineering

·         Must have continually resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years

·         Working in an Engineering related discipline at a senior level of ability

·         Project Management Experience

·         Design Review Experience

·         Experience of Continuous improvement programs

·         Detailed knowledge of Risk Assessments

·         Experience of dealing with people issues

·         Working within multi-functional teams

·         3D CAD Modelling experience

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience

·         UK Explosive Regulations Knowledge

·         Ideally qualified in Project Management (such as APM, PRINCE2 or AgilePM Methodologies)

 

This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:45 and Friday 08:00 – 12:30.
