Our vision is of a community where everyone gets the care they need, want and deserve You can help make that a reality.

We are an independent charity powered by local communities. Every day, we help to improve quality of life for people living with terminal illness, bereavement and mental health concerns, because our belief is that no one should suffer. Our incredible teams work together to make this happen.

About the role

As a Fundraising Marketing & Communications Officer, you’ll help bring our stories to life and inspire more people to support the care we provide across Saint Michael’s Hospice, Herriot Hospice and Just ’B’. Your creativity and communication skills will help raise awareness, generate vital income and connect our communities with the difference their support makes.

Working within the Marketing & Communications team and collaborating closely with fundraising, retail and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll help shape how we share our message and engage supporters. You’ll create eye-catching content across social, email, print and digital; deliver marketing campaigns for events and appeals; produce engaging materials; gather and share powerful stories; support donor communications; and use insight to enhance campaigns and spot new opportunities. You’ll also represent the charity at community events, helping to spread the word about our work.

About You

You’re a strong communicator with a flair for creating engaging, multi-channel content and tailoring messages for different audiences. Confident with digital tools and social platforms, you understand how to keep communications consistent, warm and on-brand.

Organised and adaptable, you thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities with ease. You bring compassion, sensitivity and professionalism to story gathering, and you’re confident analysing performance and spotting trends to improve future activity.
