Description

We are recruiting for a Housing Outreach Support Worker to join our Housing team. You will be responsible for providing support to the Housing Support Team with tasks and duties that include taking residents to and from appointments in a responsible and competent manner, ensuring the safety of passengers, other road users, members of the public and yourself always.
This role requires someone with:
• Working together to Safeguard Children and Safeguarding Adults training or willingness to undertake.
• A current full driving licence and valid business-use insurance policy. This must be evidenced, through the provision of documents such as MOT certificate, insurance certificate and valid driving licence.
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of young people.
• Experience in understanding the importance of Safeguarding.
• Experience being around children and young people.
• Ability to conduct routine administrative tasks accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
• To take residents to and from appointments primarily using the YMCA vehicle, or on occasion your own vehicle.
• To be responsible for the safety, comfort and welfare of residents and staff while driving and be confident with lone-working policies.
• To adhere to YMCA East Surrey’s Safeguarding policies and procedure and attend relevant safeguarding training.
• To conduct driver’s daily and weekly vehicle checks, and to conduct basic maintenance.
• To report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents, and accidents.
• To be responsible for the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out and ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
• To refuel vehicles as required.
• To maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.
• To work within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines.
• To work within the constraints and guidelines as set out in the staff handbook and the policies and procedures of YMCA East Surrey.
• To undertake any other associated duties as required by Housing management.
• Represent YMCA with professionalism and compassion, always maintaining a positive and inclusive public image.
• Participate in training and taking responsibility for maintaining the knowledge and skills required for this role.
• Take responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others, reporting any risk promptly.
