OBW Technologies is a leading provider of gas detection systems and services in Ireland. We offer a range of solutions for various industries and applications, including fixed and portable gas detectors, calibration and maintenance services and automation software.

We are looking for a new graduate to join our Service Team. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the new graduate will gain experience and exposure to core operations, systems and projects work.  This is a hands-on role that will suit a college graduate who enjoys learning technical information, process improvement, staying organised, working with people, and supporting behind-the-scenes processes.   

Role and Responsibilities

Support Technical Services Project Delivery

  • Update and maintain project management trackers to support ongoing projects, tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Help draft and co-ordinate materials, documentation, or resources needed for service projects.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely communication of project progress

Data Management & Reporting

  • Compile reports and metrics for Technical Services activities and technical KPIs.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to support Technical Services performance visibility.
  • Extract and analyse data from the ERP system for reporting and decision-making purposes

Training & Development

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of technical training programmes by working closely with experienced colleagues to capture tacit knowledge and operational know-how.
  • Assist in documenting key processes, procedures, and insights.
  • Work as part of the Technical Services team to convert this information into structured, accessible training materials and resources that can be rolled out across teams.
  • Assist in researching and adopting digital tools and AI-based solutions to enhance the effectiveness, accessibility, and scalability of training delivery across the organisation.

Process Improvement Support

  • Identify opportunities for improving workflows or documentation within the Technical Services function.
  • Support implementation of small process improvement initiatives.
  • Help create or update SOPs, service checklists, and templates.

Support with Systems & Tools

  • Learn and support the use of internal systems like ERP, service management platforms, or engineering databases
  • Help maintain or improve dashboards and reports used by the services team

Technical Documentation

  • Assist in creating and updating technical manuals, maintenance guides, or asset registers
  • Support document control process.

Customer and Internal Communication

  • Help prepare updates or service summaries for clients or internal teams
  • Attend meetings and take minutes or follow-up actions as required

Administrative & Scheduling Tasks

  • Provide administrative support to the Technical Services Manager, including calendar management, meeting scheduling, task prioritisation and follow-up action tracking.

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Recent graduate in Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations, or related field
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with data, with good Excel and/or Power BI skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to learn
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • An interest in process optimisation and continuous improvement
